In the Realm of Security

Sharp is a proven Leader in the realm of security.  Equipment, like multifunctional printers (MFPs) and printers, and as well as networks are constantly being targeted for leaks of critical information.  However, Sharp has dedicated itself to being proven to protecting all clients, no matter what size, from large corporations to government offices, from breeches.  In their effort to offer the best Data Security, Sharp has documented the following threats :
Physical Security Threats are present on many  vulnerable MFPs and printers, as these machines are usually left in a centralized location with any personnel or outsider’s access.
Network Security Threats are always a concern when company’s or government data is stolen or altered.  This places not only the business at risk, but also employees and customers, too.  Any machine with a computer present, MFP data stored on a hard drive included, is vulnerable to becoming compromised.
To combat these risks to your business or agency, Sharp effectively prevents these risks from becoming a problem in the first place.  Using a multi-layered approach for protection, the Sharp Security Suite includes: Sharp MFP standard security features, Sharp’s Data Security Kit, Print driver security features, and Sharp OSA technology-enabled security applications.
The Data Security Kit (DSKs) is optional, but when it is combined with Sharp’s standard MFP security settings you achieve Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) algorithm on “all data before it is written to RAM and the hard disk drive”.  Unauthorized users will have difficulty retrieving data as the overwriting routines prevent them from hacking.  And if your lease runs out, the “End-Of-Lease feature ensures that all data is erased before returning, or relinquishing control of the MFP”.
The next feature is the Sharp Network Interface which is designed to allow network control security for benefits such as, access control security, data and information security, network security, fax security, audit trail security, and document security.  A more thorough explanation will be coming in the weeks to come, however acquaint yourself with this checklist to ensure your current workplace equipment is protected at its absolute max.  If you would like one of our knowledgeable account representatives to come and assist you, please don’t hesitate to contact us!
