Many of you know Lance Dunavant is the service manager and production specialist at our Little Rock location. Another great, but popular piece of information is how Lance is the only G7 Certified Expert in Arkansas.
Side note: Gracol 7(G7) is the process of print calibration, which is used by printing technologies. It uses spectrophotometry to track neutrality for improved hue and gray matching. A key component of the G7 print process requires a spectrophotometer causing the benefit of mid-tone contrast scaling based on the paper color. Lance has been trained and certified to assist our clients with their gray and color printing consistency.
Aside from his expertise in the printing industry, what many don’t know is Lance’s back story that has led him to being counted on from employees and clients alike. As a child, Lance loved to take things apart to figure out how they worked. “I always had a knack for repairing my own things,” Lance says. Unsure of what he wanted in a career, Lance leaned on his love of technology and graduated in 1998 with an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science for Electronic Engineering from ITT Technical Institute. Before graduation, ITT’s job coordinator setup an interview with what was to become his first employer in the printing industry and he was very intrigued by the position. Accepting the position of entry level technician, Lance began work the day he graduated with his degree. “I’ve always believed that if you do the things that the other employees aren’t willing to do you will succeed quickly,” Lance advises. His advice worked well for him as he moved from entry level technician to field supervisor in his eighteen years with the same employer.
Last year, Lance moved from his first employer and joined the AAA Business Systems family as our service manager and production specialist. “I came to AAA because of Wade Timmermann. His drive and determination are very contagious and motivating,” Lance states. Along with his G7 certification, Lance is certified in most Ricoh and Sharp multifunctional printers (MFPs) and is a certified technical instructor for the Ricoh and Sharp brands. Lance is also expert certified in Konica Minolta production machines. When Lance isn’t working, he dedicates his time to his wife and son, especially when it comes to fishing, hunting, and woodworking.
